Easter

Easter weekend was fun.  We went home for 3 nights.  The weather on Friday afternoon was 45 degrees and I think it was sleeting at one point.  When we left on Monday we were sweating in shorts and T's.

Saturday afternoon we visited the National Toy Train Museum and then rode the Easter Bunny train in Strasburg.  The Museum was a hit.

What could be more exciting to a 2 1/2 year old boy than hundreds of trains 'working' (as Cameron says) with buttons at eye level to push and operate the trains.  Ava enjoyed it too.  The Easter Bunny was a different story.  The Bunny was the low point for Cameron.

Cameron FREAKED OUT when he saw this rabbit coming down the train aisle.  He was sitting on my lap so I took the brunt of it.  He screamed, cried, kicked, and hit me about 3 times all within 5 seconds.  I will not be holding him this Christmas when he sees Santa for the first time, that's for sure!

On a happier note, Ed and I had a great dinner date Saturday night for our 6th wedding anniversary, followed by 'one too many' after dinner drinks.  And really, 'one too many' at age 39 is splitting a bottle of wine at dinner and a martini for dessert.  Kinda pathetic. But it still made for a rough first few hours Easter morning.  At dinner we were trying to figure out what we did for anniversaries 1-5 and neither of us could remember...not one year (and it wasn't the alcohol at this point).  So sad.  What is wrong with my mind these days?  All the more reason to write it down.

Sunday was spent at Tessa's with the family.  We had a fun Easter egg hunt outside and a yummy dinner.  Cameron did have to make me feel like my parenting skills suck as he threw his spoon and fork across the room the second we sat down for Easter dinner, then proceeded to swing at me after we asked him to stop.  Blah, blah, blah.   I can't deal and I don't care about being judged in front of my family.

Funny Ava questions about the Easter Bunny:

Does the Easter Bunny wear clothes?
How can he hop to all of the houses with small feet?
Where does the Easter Bunny get his eggs?
Does he wear shoes?
