It's time to start all of the festivities, The Elf on the Shelf, advent calendars, decorating the house. The kids are very excited. We started the week off with the arrival of Sparkles...he's back! Ava was up bright and early and could not wait to find him.
Ava is the queen of questions so there were many regarding Sparkles. She took a long look at him and told me he didn't look like he was breathing! Ummm.....I didn't even know what to say. Then she asked me how he could sit so still for so long. Somehow I got through that round. The following day she examined him again and told me his hair was plastic!! Too funny! She wanted to know why his hair was not real. OMG...
Cameron also loves to find him. He did want to know how he was able to sit up so high...he thought maybe he used a ladder. And he also asked why he had no feet. My curious children :)
Day 4 for the elf and Daddy picked a bad location for Sparkles, the refrigerator gets too much activity for him to balance there all day. It was shear panic when Ava walked into the room and saw him hanging by his foot upside down. Luckily she needed to use the bathroom and we quickly found him a new home.
The advent calendars are probably their favorite because it involves chocolate for breakfast. Cameron just can not figure out why he can't open a new door when he wakes up from his afternoon nap.
Finally, we went to get the Christmas tree yesterday. After picking the tree, visiting Santa, and riding the train it was a 2 1/2 hour process. Cameron had trouble cooperating for a photo, he was too concerned about riding the train.
Santa! He was strange looking, but I guess at 5 you don't notice that too much. Ava gave him her list and Cam even whispered to Santa from about 5 feet away that he would like a train! I was really impressed he didn't fall apart.
