Time flies by

Wow...more than 6 months have gone by since my last entry.  We've become a very busy family in the evenings now, leaving me much less time sit and type.  Busy has been a challenge, but also fun as the kids are playing basketball, tennis, gymnastics, and continue with swimming lessons.  The other great thing about less time to type is that daddy rarely travels for work now and is home most evenings!  It was a bit of adjustment but it is WONDERFUL to be a family of four.

Here are the highlights from the last 6 months for each kiddo.

Miss A:  She is a big 3rd grader.  Combining the classrooms this year has been a blessings.  Either it was just a great thing for all of the girls to be together, or they all matured a bit over the summer (including A), so the drama has really slowed this year.  She is so happy in her classroom and all of her anxiety about having a male teacher is gone, she absolutely loves her first 'man-teacher'.

After a rough fall for both A and I, her wonderful team of therapists have made life a little more managable and understandable for everyone in the family.  I think she is in a good place right now, happy at home and at school and playing so much better with her brother.  Having daddy home every night has also been a huge help.  She's had some fun playdates over Christmas break and her first sleepover here at the house was so much fun!

A has made it to the Copper level gymnastic team at the NAC.  She practices twice a week for 3 hours each session and is exhausted by the end of the practice.  Her first competition will be in 6 weeks and she is quite nervous about it. There are times when she wants to quit, but we encourage her to stick with it for now, at least until she gets one competition under her belt.  She gave tennis a go for a few weeks but decided it wasn't for her...maybe another year.

Basketball has been the other choice of sport this winter (much to daddy's disliking).  A plays every Sunday afternoon with 2 other classmates, and the one classmate's mother is the coach.  A does well, she can shoot, but blocking, guarding, and playing aggressive are more difficult.  She has scored in almost every game and it's been a lot of fun to go and watch.  I'm just happy she is participating in a team sport.

...and was puzzle crazy this fall.  Like super hyper-focused on them, completing 1000 piece puzzles in a few days.
